House almost done

We went past the house today and noticed the painters there finishing off the painting. We only have a few things left to be installed now and have been told we should be having our final inspection end of this week coming or the week after.

The council crossing has been installed by council but some locals have left their mark. P.S. I hope Dan and Alin break up real soon.

Hot Water and Council Crossing

We drove past today and noticed the Hot Water System had been installed and the council had started digging out the old kerbing ready for the new. Surely we should be getting close to completion now??

Check measure and driveway quotes

We managed to organise with the site supervisor to let us in Thursday so both the blind and carpet companies could come to do the check-measure. The carpet guy actually turned up late but said he we would throw in free carpet to the garage steps to make up for it.

We also have had a few quotes for the driveway now. The last guy said we really should replace the gutter crossing as it currently is only 3m. He said it would look nicer and would be much easier to access our garage if we got council to replace this with a 4.5m one. I can imagine it will take council months before they get this done but it should be worth it.

Water tanks and not much else

Another week gone and it looks like only one thing has happened. Hurry up builder.


We have 4 water tanks squeezed down the side of the property.


Oops. Looks like they forgot to hook this downpipe up.

Slowly progressing

We met with the site supervisor today and had a good look around. He said we are getting close to the end now. However there still seems to be so much left to do.

Tiling finished in kitchen and we have a range hood. The freestanding oven was sitting in the hallway ready to be installed.

We have some handrails. They have to come back as they missed doing the front patio.

Ensuite bathroom. Feature tile looks a little small on such a big wall.

Main bathroom almost sorted.

Pergola, electrical, A/C and more landscaping

Hopefully not long to go now. We have been waiting for ages for the wrong bath that was installed to be replaced. That has held up tiling. Our site supervisor has been sick on and off for the last week or more, so haven't been able to get an update on what's happening.

We have lots of electrical points now hooked up all around the place.

Front garden bed and some of boundary retaining wall now put back in place.

More electrical and A/C ducts

We have a pergola. Brickwork around beams also completed.

We have an Air Conditioned. Bit of a squeeze.

More tiling, landscaping and neighbour complaint

Retaining wall a little higher

Tiling rear alfresco. Pergola still to be installed.

Front tiling done.

Side retaining wall removed after excavation to allow room for side access. Neighbour not happy so we are are putting back some of the blocks for them.
